#Half life blue shift rosenberg runs away mod
Though I do not have a PlayStation 2 of my own I’ve played Decay to death on a friend’s console, and it was clear to me that with painstaking attention to detail the mod team has recreated every room, corridor and computer bank, every enemy, every scripted sequence. I was treated to four great levels, in which I could see the team had given this project the tender loving care that it deserved. Well, one Half-Life mod team wasn’t happy with this console-only state of affairs, and they’ve completely recreated the entire Decay game! I was lucky enough to receive (more like I begged for!) a preview of a mod that recreates Decay for the PC version of Half-Life. Though Gearbox did actually complete a port of Decay for Half-Life on the PC, it was never released, due to some mysterious powers beyond their control. As with Gearbox’s other expansions, it puts the player in the shoes of someone other than Gordon Freeman during the disaster at Black Mesa in this case, two female scientists, Gina Cross (the Hazard Course instructor) and Colette Green.

Decay’s unique twist is that it can be played as a 2-player cooperative game, like an official version of Sven Co-Op. Decay? What’s that? Where can I get my hands on this extra slice of action at the Black Mesa facility? Well, if you are solely a PC gamer then I’m afraid you are out of luck, as Decay was only ever included with the PlayStation 2 version of Half-Life. A fact overlooked by many is that there are actually THREE expansions: the third is Decay. An inside look at the the upcoming PS2 port of Half-Life: Decay to the PC.Īs far as most Half-Life gamers are concerned, Half-Life has two official expansions: Opposing Force and Blue Shift, both created by Gearbox Software.
